How to start Manual Tester
To start Manual Execution:
Click on Run button on the top right of the screen;
Select option Run Manual from the dropdown menu;
In the Execution configuration popup window you need to configure:
select the target computer name
target Data Set
Run in "Debug” or "Productive" mode.
"Debug" mode will display the Maintenance window at runtime when execution runs into failures. By default, all execution will run in "Productive" mode, so in case of the failure the execution will be finished and you can see the result in the Run logs.
The Start Manual Execution button will launch the Manual Tester QFP application. The Manual Tester application will appear on the right of your screen.
Options in Manual Tester
The Manual Tester offers multiple options so the user can finalize a test validation. Hotkeys can be used for all the buttons when running the Manual Tester.
Pass action (Ctrl+P) - Action will be marked as passed in the Logs.
Fail Action (Ctrl+F) - Action will be marked as Failed in the Logs.
Skip (Ctrl+S) - You can skip the entire action. It will be marked as Skipped in the Logs.
Show me (Ctrl+H) - Highlights the control in the application.
Do it for me (Enter) - Executes the step automatically for you.
New Defect (Ctrl+D) - You can create a defect from the Manual Tester. If you press New Defect button, the popup window with the new defect with pre-populated steps in the description field will be opened.
Notes (Ctrl+N) - Using the Notes button from Manual tester will open a notes editor window for the currently selected step. It will allow you to:
add/edit/remove one note for each step (for currently selected step);
format the notes using the editor’s options;
Canceling the execution will not impact the note modifications. The note modifications are sent to the server when clicking the Save button from the Notes window.

Ability to go back to a step in Manual Tester
You can go back to one of the previous steps in the Manual Tester and execute that (and the following steps) again. The following opting are available:
Go back to a step in the same task - Double click on the previous step
Go back to a step in a previous task - Expand the task and double click on the step
All the logs after the current step are reset and only the last result is taken into consideration and will be displayed in the Run Logs.
